In India, if a dispute reaches the formal system, protection has already failed. As of 31 December 2025, 5.39 crore cases were pending across Indian courts — 4.76 crore of them in district courts, the exact venue where an owner–tenant or vendor dispute would land — with pendency still rising while hundreds of High Court judgeships sit vacant. The system cannot absorb new conflict. Prevention is the only form of legal protection that actually scales.
We saw the same problems repeating: landlords losing months of rent to unenforceable agreements, tenants losing deposits to vague language, freelancers and small businesses working on handshakes that collapsed the moment money went missing — and everyone spending more on lawyers to resolve disputes than a proper document would have cost in the first place. Agreements.co.in was founded by Pradeep Kumar Kotari, a software engineer with nearly two decades of experience building mission-critical systems for some of the world's largest financial institutions — including Citigroup, Freddie Mac, PIMCO, and Bank of America — where a single wrong clause in a system, like a single wrong clause in a contract, can cost someone everything.
Working on risk-processing and transaction systems taught him a simple truth: trust at scale is built by getting the details right, every time. Back home, he kept seeing the opposite — millions of Indians running their most important relationships on verbal promises, because proper legal protection felt expensive, intimidating, and out of reach. He believes legal protection is a basic utility, not a luxury, so he left a global corporate career to build the platform he wished existed: one where a fair agreement takes minutes, costs less than a meal out, and comes with someone on WhatsApp who actually answers.
An AWS-certified solutions architect with a B.Tech in Information Technology, Pradeep builds and runs the platform from Chennai, and personally reads customer feedback every day.
