Nature of Service

Agreements.co.in is a legal document platform, not a template library. Each document is assembled from your answers, not printed from a fixed form: we ask the questions your situation calls for, apply the statutory rules of the state you are in, let you adjust the clauses that carry real consequences, flag the risks and gaps in your draft before you sign, and carry the document through stamp duty, signing, delivery and — where applicable — registration.

What that does not mean: we are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. Everything we produce is legal information — it explains, drafts and flags, but it does not advise you on your specific situation, and it is not a substitute for a lawyer.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Using this platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Agreements.co.in, and nothing you send us is protected by legal professional privilege. If you need advice that is confidential and specific to you, engage an advocate directly.

Where we help you find an advocate — through our directory or an advocate-review option — that advocate is independent. They are responsible for their own advice; we are not, and we do not supervise it.

Verification Status of Our Legal Content

Our clause text, statutory references and risk checks are researched and built in-house, and are progressively being submitted for independent verification by practising advocates. A document type displays its verifying advocate only once that review is signed and dated. Where no verifier is shown, that review has not yet happened — treat the output as a well-researched starting point, not a verified legal opinion.

Automated and AI-Assisted Processing

Parts of this platform are automated, and some steps are assisted by artificial intelligence — for example understanding what you have described, drafting explanatory wording, and reading documents you upload. Amounts, dates and statutory references are produced by deterministic rules rather than AI, precisely because those must not be guessed.

Automated systems can still be wrong or incomplete. You must read every document before you sign, send or rely on it, and check that the facts, names, amounts and dates match your situation. Where the platform asks you to confirm that the facts you have given are true, that confirmation is yours, not ours.

Deadlines and Limitation Periods

Where the platform shows a deadline, notice period or limitation date, it is an estimate generated from general statutory rules — not a calculated legal position on your matter. Real deadlines shift with facts we may not know, and missing one can permanently end an otherwise good claim.

Never rely on a date shown here as your only source. If a deadline matters to you, confirm it with an advocate. Acting in time is your responsibility.

Legal Notices and Settlements

A legal notice states your position and asks the other side to act. It does not compel them, does not begin court proceedings, and no outcome is promised — not payment, not vacancy, not settlement. Whether it works depends on the facts, the other party and, ultimately, a court.

The allegations and facts in a notice are yours. We draft what you tell us; we do not investigate or verify it. You are responsible for the truth of what you assert and for the consequences of asserting it, including any claim of defamation or malicious prosecution. Serving a notice on the wrong person or the wrong address, or without the proof to back it, can damage your position.

A notice necessarily contains personal information about the person it is addressed to, who is not our customer. You confirm you have a legitimate basis for pursuing the matter and will not use the platform to harass anyone.

The Document Decoder

The Decoder explains a document you have received and reports signals about it. It is legal information, not legal advice. It does not certify that a document is genuine or fake, does not authenticate signatures, seals or court records, and does not predict what will happen. An authenticity signal is an indicator to investigate — never a determination.

If a document appears to come from a court, a police authority or a regulator, verify it directly with that body and consult an advocate before acting on it or ignoring it.

Stamp Duty, Registration and Government Processes

Stamp duty and registration figures shown on this platform are estimates based on published rates, which change and are applied by the relevant authority at its discretion. We are not a government body, not the Rent Authority, and not a registration office. Where we assist with stamp paper, e-stamping, delivery or filing, we act as a facilitator — the authority decides the outcome, and its timelines are outside our control.

Accuracy and Completeness

We work hard to keep our legal content correct and current, but we do not guarantee that any document is accurate, complete or suitable for your particular purpose. Laws differ by state, change over time, and are interpreted differently by different courts. Where we have not yet covered the law of your state for a document type, we show you a warning to that effect rather than silently applying another state's rules — but the decision to proceed, and the risk of doing so, remains yours.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for reading the finished document, for deciding whether it fits your situation, and for complying with the law that applies to you. By using this platform you confirm you have read and understood this disclaimer.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with a document or service is limited to the amount you paid us for that document or service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost profit, lost opportunity, or the outcome of a dispute, negotiation or proceeding.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or liability for fraud. If a document we produced is deficient, tell us — we will correct it, and our Refund Policy applies.
